Pet Portraits

Pet Portraits

Pet portraits are a challenge but I love creating something special for pet owners to remember their fur babies, especially if they have passed on.

Most of us know the impact our pets have on our lives during their short time on earth, which is one reason I have had commission requests to memorialize pets through my hand burned pet portraits.

Interested customers must provide a high resolution reference photo before I decide to take on a commission.  Clear, high quality photos that show hair strokes and fine details are what I am looking for. This will help me create the best possible portrait.

I have a few different options for wood (planks, plaques with live edge, or rounds with live edge, all in varying sizes) and can order other sizes or options.

Pet portraits are hand burned using my Razertip SS-D10. I do like to add colored highlights or accents from time to time, using watered down acrylic paint and Gellyroll pens. Each piece is finished with Kylon UW Acrylic spray and Minwax Polycrylic.

*Please Note: All woodburnings are subject to fading over time, especially when exposed to the elements (eg. sunlight, moisture). In order to keep artwork looking good for years to come, I suggest that my pieces be displayed out of direct UV/sunlight.
