About the Artist - Rebecca Holm
I live in Northern Wisconsin with my husband, our two sons, and our two dogs. When I’m not working my full-time job, Dark Side Pyrography serves as my creative outlet and hobby business.
My love for art began in early childhood. Growing up, I was always drawing, painting, and dreaming of becoming an art teacher. In college, I explored art education before shifting my focus to Graphic Art & Design, ultimately earning my Associate of Arts degree. Though my career path led elsewhere, my passion never faded—I continued taking on side creative projects like custom murals, jewelry making, logo design, and portraits.
I was first introduced to pyrography in 2003 when a customer generously lent me his Razertip burner. INSTANT LOVE! I quickly began crafting custom signs and pet portraits, building a steady flow of word-of-mouth commissions. After a couple of wonderful years, I returned the burner and stepped away from the craft for a bit.
Fast forward to 2020: I was asked to lead a series of 4-H project meetings teaching youth the art of pyrography. Guiding those young artists reignited my own passion for the craft, and I knew it was time to dive back in. I bought my very own Razertip burner, and Dark Side Pyrography was born!
Since then, I’ve had the joy of creating countless custom pieces—from pet portraits and unique handcrafted gifts to jewelry and custom leatherwork. The support and encouragement from friends, family, and new and returning customers has been nothing short of amazing.
